About the Role
Medical Laboratory Services (MLS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of diagnostic quality and operational excellence. We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Manager Laboratory Analysis Department to lead and oversee all analytical laboratory operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of biomedical analysts and laboratory technicians, ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of all diagnostic testing. You will also play a key role in maintaining equipment, implementing quality systems, and upholding accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Oversight
- Lead, guide, and support a team of biomedical analysts and laboratory technicians.
- Ensure all analytical tests are conducted accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with established protocols.
- Oversee daily laboratory operations and maintain a high standard of performance and safety.
- Implement and monitor quality control and quality assurance programs.
- Ensure full compliance with accreditation standards, including ISO 15189.
- Manage incidents, deviations, and corrective actions to maintain operational integrity.
- Supervise the management and maintenance of analytical instruments and automation systems.
- Validate test results and ensure adherence to quality and performance benchmarks.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and the integration of new technologies or methods.
- Work closely with medical specialists and internal departments to support result interpretation and process optimization.
- Participate in audits and contribute to ongoing compliance and quality initiatives.
- Report key performance indicators, technical updates, and improvement initiatives to the Director.
- Master’s degree in Clinical Chemistry, Biomedical Laboratory Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in clinical or medical laboratory analysis and team leadership.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory diagnostics, test validation, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with automated laboratory systems and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
