About the Role
Medical Laboratory Services (MLS) is dedicated to ensuring quality and precision at every stage of the diagnostic process. We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Manager – Pre-Analysis Department to oversee all pre-analytical processes, including sample collection, registration, transport, and preparation.
In this role, you will ensure that all pre-analytical procedures meet quality, safety, and compliance standards to support accurate diagnostic results and an efficient laboratory workflow. You will lead multiple teams and coordinate with internal and external partners to maintain excellence in sample handling and processing.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Coordination
- Lead and coordinate teams responsible for phlebotomy, sample reception, and registration.
- Ensure accurate patient identification, labeling, and documentation of all samples.
- Oversee the logistical workflow of sample transport and storage, ensuring adherence to temperature and timing requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in accordance with laboratory standards.
- Monitor turnaround times, quality indicators, and sample rejection rates to optimize efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, safety, and confidentiality regulations.
- Identify process improvements and support continuous quality initiatives within the department.
- Train, guide, and evaluate pre-analytical and logistics staff.
- Serve as a liaison between collection sites, couriers, and laboratory personnel.
- Collaborate with management to align operational performance with organizational goals.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, Laboratory Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience managing pre-analytical processes in a medical laboratory setting.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with ISO 15189 standards and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
