Prolactine

Naam bepaling: Prolactine  Eenheid: ng/ml  Referentiewaarden: Vrouw : 4.8 – 23.3 ng/ml Man : 4.0 – 15.2 ng/ml  Klinische betekenis:   Prolactine is een enkelstrengs polypeptide hormoon van de hypofysevoorkwab met een molecuulgewicht van 23.000 D. Prolactine speelt een belangrijke rol in de stimulatie en ontwikkeling van mamae en lactogenese. Prolactine is tevens een “stress-hormoon”; tijdelijk verhoogd bij bloedafname, tandextractie, operatie, etc. Het heeft een dag- en nachtritme; verhoogd in de vroege morgen en laag in de avond. De prolactinetest dient als een hulpmiddel voor de diagnose en behandeling van amenorroe, lactatie en hypothalamus-hypofyse aandoeningen.  Bij een prolactinoom in de hypofyse kan het prolactinegehalte in serum >10x de referentiewaarde zijn.  Ingangsdatum:  Cobas 6000, ECLIA; Sandwich principe.
